Question
How do I reclaim my CDN resource or DNS zones?
Environment
OnApp CDN
Answer
If you switch from one OnApp empowered CDN provider to another, and wish to use the same CDN resource hostname or DNS zone (while having the old record sitting at the old CDN provider and unable to delete), follow the steps below:
- Domain Ownership - (a) Add a TXT record "ONAPP OWNERSHIP CHANGES" on the root domain of the CDN hostname or the DNS Zone that you wish to remove from the old provider; OR (b) Create a new CDN resource in the new provider panel with the same root domain and configure a CNAME record. (this only applicable for CDN resource)
- Open a zendesk ticket to support@onapp.com and mention reclaim of CDN resource or DNS zone
- OnApp support acknowledges the request in (2) and contacts the old provider to remove the CDN resource or DNS zone within 24 hours.
- CDN admin will remove the CDN resource/DNS zone from backend if the removal was not completed by the old provider within the given time frame.
