Drive performance levels

When adding disk drives to the Integrated Storage, the drives are separated into performance categories.

The calculation to determine the performance category is done when the drive is first formatted and configured for usage with OnApp Integrated Storage.

The write performance test performed is:

dd of={device} if=/dev/zero bs=10M count=50 oflag=direct

The classification is as follows:

  1. Write I/O < 100 MB/s - Low
  2. Write I/O < 160 MB/s - Mid
  3. Write I/O >= 160MB/s - High
Drive performance levels can be changed manually if the auto-detected value is incorrect.
