Question
Why does my Linux VM start up in read only mode?
Environment:
All OnApp versions
Answer
This is usually caused by file system corruption in the primary volume of the Virtual Server(Machine).
Please follow these steps to resolve the issue:
- Shut down the VM from the CP interface.
- Boot the VM into recovery mode.
- Then perform an fsck on the primary disk (See the FSCK guide).
- After the fsck is completed start up the VM in normal mode again.
