How to stop VMs from being added to Hypervisor

Question

How can I stop virtual machines from being added to a Hypervisor?

Environment

All versions of OnApp

Answer

When you create a VM you have a possibility to choose among available Hypervisors.

To disable HV and make it unavailable for deployment of new VMs:

  1. Go to Settings -> Compute Resources menu.
  2. Click on the label of required Hypervisor.
  3. Click Edit Compute Resource link.
  4. On the screen that appears untick Enabled checkbox and press Save button.

To put that HV back to normal just go back to the same place to re-enable.

 

Note. These actions will have no impact on the VMs already running on this Hypervisor!
