Why does my new Data Store shows 40GB used even though it has no Virtual Machines on it?

LVM Data Store
Answer
40GB is reserved to ensure your Data Store doesn't get completely utilized. If data store is filled up, there would not be the required storage for snapshot backups to complete successfully.
