Question
What will happen to a non-working Edge Server?
Answer
When CDN edge monitoring service detects an edge server is not functioning as expected, the service will flag the edge server as DOWN status. This information will be applied in our CDN DNS redirection strategy.
Similarly, if CDN edge monitoring service detects an edge server has recovered, the service will automatically flag the edge server as UP status. This information will be applied in our CDN DNS redirection strategy as well.
However, if an edge server is flagged DOWN continuously for 30 days, the edge server will be set to DEFUNCT status. Once an edge server is flagged as DEFUNCT, all monitoring activity will be halted permanently for this edge server. This mean, the edge server will remain DEFUNCT even if the edge server has recovered from service interruption.
Kindly contact support@onapp.com if you wish to re-enable delivery service for this edge server.
